It's All About R-E-S-P-E-C-T!

Claire Danes, 16, travels so much that she finds being home in Los Angeles exotic. Once home, she'll put on her favorite jeans: bell-bottoms from the 1970s. "They're not the most attractive things in the world, but they're soft and broken in just right. I wear them all the time," she told react.
Most of her clothes cost $10 or less. "I feel like Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's," she explains. She shops two extremes--Colors (a secondhand store on Melrose) and the New York/Beverly Hills department store Barneys.
Once she's comfortably dressed, Claire will put on her favorite music--like an Al Green CD a friend gave her that she plays over and over. Last year, Liz Phair was burning up Claire's speakers. And recently? "There's one song by Oasis. I'm embarrassed that I like it so much," she says. The song is "Wonderwall." "It's just really pop-y and has a beat," Claire explains. "I don't like any of the other songs on the album."
Claire's all-time favorite singer is Motown legend Aretha Franklin. "She's so strong," Claire says. "She's got a lot of guts in her singing and she's powerful. And she talks about things that I care about: 'R-E-S-P-E-C-T!'"
